Made in Holland collection

Part of our European range is made in the Netherlands. We have named this special line the 'Made in Holland' collection. This collection is a model for what we want to project as a ceramics wholesaler: professional, atmospheric and timeless. We see clean lines with a smooth matt finish, interspersed with fashionable colours and graphic texture. The series are as cosy as they are reliable. The series have a Northern European soul, characterful and modern, with an attractive matt gloss finish. The designs are sophisticated. They have clean lines and unusual colours so that they fit into different living styles. Some series feature a distinctive texture that combines graphic and organic. This is a nod to the changing world, in which the digital world and nature increasingly meet.

Handcrafted ceramic plant pots

Much of TS European flower pots are traditionally hand-turned by experienced artisans. We work together with several handcrafted factories. As a ceramics wholesaler that has been around for 90 years, we are naturally very proud of our collaborations. Choosing beautiful sustainable materials and favourable working conditions is a focus for both parties. As far as we are concerned, this is the starting point for a stylish and honest high-quality product. When everything is top notch, it shows in the final product! We are constantly looking to improve in these areas.

How are handmade ceramic plant pots made?

The process a handmade ceramic flower pot goes through is a science for us as pottery flower pot wholesalers. Although minor adjustments are made for each model, the basics are largely the same. We use the best quality ceramic - that's the start. Large quantities of clay are put through a special machine to squeeze out the air. Out of that press comes a kind of sausage of clay, which is cut into pieces. Each piece of clay is moulded by hand on a traditional turning mechanism, into the right model of flowerpot. A stick indicates the correct height of the pot. Small differences in size may occur in this artisanal process. That is the charm of our collection, it makes for authentic flower pots, with a unique character.

How do ceramic plant pots get textured?

Now that the base of the rustic flower pot is ready, another specialist takes care of the pot's structure. There is a different tool for each texture. That could be a special carving tool or a special paint pattern. Our designers choose a special composition of colour, design and texture tool to give a flower pot series a unique look of its own.

Firing and colouring ceramic plant pots

When the pots are the right shape and textured they are ready for firing. Once fired, they come out of the kiln orange, the distinctive terracotta colour. Then the pots cool down and are sprayed in the desired colour. This spraying is again done manually, giving each pot a completely unique colour pattern.
